About NetSim Network Simulator & Router Simulator

The Boson NetSim Network Simulator is an application that simulates Cisco Systems' networking hardware and software and is designed to aid the user in learning the Cisco IOS command structure.

NetSim utilizes Boson's proprietary Network Simulator, Router Simulator® and EROUTER® software technologies, along with the Boson Virtual Packet Technology® engine, to create individual packets. These packets are  routed and switched through the simulated network, allowing NetSim to build an appropriate virtual routing table and simulate true networking. Other simulation products on the market do not support this level of functionality.

Boson offers a NetSim CCENT Network Simulator, CCNA Network Simulator and CCNP Network Simulator. Each supports the technologies and skills you will need for the respective certifications.

Boson NetSim provides more versatility and support than any other aftermarket software. NetSim software also includes a comprehensive lab menu that contains lessons and labs covering routing protocols, Cisco devices, switching, topological design and much more.

Advantages of Software-Based
IT Training

Boson NetSim is a versatile tool and valuable asset, both in a classroom and for corporate use, as well as a self-paced learning tool. For many individuals, the availability of Cisco Routers and Switches is often limited. The cost and fragility of equipment makes rack rentals impractical at this level. Boson NetSim makes it possible to design and configure a network with 47 different router models and 3 different switch models to choose from - without having to pay a lot of money, or worrying about transporting and damaging valuable equipment.

NetSim's router, switch and station sim components contained within the software are the most advanced in the industry. We include simulation of Routers, Switches and PCs into a completely customizable drag and drop network-sim package. Furthermore, Boson NetSim simulates both switching bridge tables and routing protocol tables, to allow you to go OUTSIDE of the labs and create your own labs using the Boson Network Designer!

Advanced Features included with Boson NetSim

NetSim for CCNP UPDATE

Boson NetSim for CCNP (version 7.33 released January 26, 2010) contains a number of updates and enhancements aimed at the new CCNP 4.0 requirements and designed to improve the user’s experience. Included in this new release is a newly designed display capability that allows you to view NetSim's extensive number of labs under either the CCNP 3.0 or the revised CCNP 4.0 certification tracks. With just a click of the mouse, you can organize the labs based on BSCI, BCMSN, ISCW and ONT, or based on ROUTE, SWITCH and TSHOOT. If you already own NetSim for CCNP 7, these improvements will be included in your automatic update.

Based on our assessment of Cisco's new ROUTE, SWITCH and TSHOOT courses, the existing NetSim labs offer extensive coverage of the newly revised CCNP 4.0; however, we have not yet added new material, so it may not be comprehensive. Our NetSim development team is already working on additional content and functionality to cover CCNP 4.0. As Cisco releases the new CCNP exams, we will begin providing new labs in NetSim for CCNP 8.0.

Testimonial:

The package is complete, with the ability to create custom labs and one thing I found truly amazing - a virtual routing table. There is no other package I know of that offers this feature. Add to this the Boson exams for CCNA and you may have the most unbeatable combination..."
