CCNA 640-802 Bootcamp Course DescriptionThose who attend the five-day Boson CCNA Bootcamp will learn fundamental computer networking concepts and apply them as they configure a LAN/WAN network using Cisco routers and Catalyst switches. Through lectures, discussions, demonstrations, exercises, and laboratory projects, students are given information sufficient to identify and recommend the best Cisco solutions for anywhere from small to enterprise-sized businesses. CCNA also provides the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting information that technical support people require to install, manage, and configure Cisco products.

The most exciting part of the class, however, is when a student isn’t sure about a particular subject; then, after further explanations either on the white board or through a practical application, it clicks! It just hits them and they realize now they understand the technology. The smiles on their faces are priceless!
I try to tell a story in the way I teach my CCNA classes. Just like when writing a book, you begin with an introduction and work your way into the storyline. I find staying away from the “professor” style of teaching allows the students to stay active, but more importantly, interested. I learned CCNA networking when I started here at Boson Training. I learned from the ground up, doing backups, cabling, installations, and making sure the classroom PCs were ready to go for each class. So for my students, I can relate to the newer technologies discussed in the courseware as well as many of the more common problems students may have come across in their own networks. I’ve broken enough networking equipment and configurations to know what works and what doesn’t. I’ve been though the pains of learning how to subnet the long way, one of the more difficult subjects in CCNA. I now use that knowledge to teach it with a much shorter, easier-to-understand approach. After spending two straight years of studying Cisco networking, I was able to achieve my CCNA, CCNP and my CCSI.
