CCNA Certification Info
New versions of ICND1, ICND2 and CCNA Exams Are Available.September
30, 2013 is the last day to test for the Cisco ICND1 (640-822), INCD2
(640-816) and CCNA (640-802) exams. Candidates planning to take the
ICND1, ICND2 or CCNA Routing and Swithcing exams on/after October 1,
2013 should prepare using
100-101 ICND1,
200-101 INCD2 or 220-120 CCNA Routing and Switching exam topics.
These exams test a candidate's knowledge and skills required to install, operate, and troubleshoot a small to medium size enterprise branch network. The topics include connecting to a WAN; implementing network security; network types; network media; routing and switching fundamentals; the TCP/IP and OSI models; IP addressing; WAN technologies; operating and configuring IOS devices; extending switched networks with VLANs; determining IP routes; managing IP traffic with access lists; establishing point-to-point connections; and establishing Frame Relay connections.
CCNA Certification Prerequisites
There are no prerequisites for CCNA certification.

Military Requirements
In addition to validating your IT skills and networking training, Cisco Certifications are a must for certain IT positions.
- DoD
Mandate: The DoD Directive 8570.01-M mandates all government personnel,
civilians, and contractors with privileged access working on networks
are required to receive industry IT certifications.
- CNSS/NSA
4011: Cisco CCNA Security and Cisco CCNA courses meet the CNSS training
standard as outlined by the Information Systems Security (INFOSEC)
Professional Recognition, the National Security Agency (NSA), and the
Committee on National Security Systems.
- By being 4011 compliant,
the Cisco Security certification program ensures that certified network
security professionals assisting federal agencies and private sector
entities understand what is required to protect information and aid in
the defense of the nation’s vital information resources.
