ROUTE Training

ROUTE (Implementing Cisco IP Routing) Training is a five-day course that teaches students to plan, configure and verify the implementation of secure enterprise LAN and WAN routing solutions using a range of routing protocols. The ROUTE course is one of three components in the CCNP curriculum.

A valid CCNA certification or higher Cisco certification is recommended.

Students should also have a basic knowledge of the following:
  • Establishing Internet and WAN connectivity (IPv4 and IPv6)
  • Managing network device security
  • Operating a medium-sized LAN with multiple switches, supporting VLANs, trunking, and spanning tree
  • Troubleshooting IP connectivity (IPv4 and IPv6)
  • Configuring and troubleshooting EIGRP and OSPF (IPv4 and IPv6)
  • Configuring devices for SNMP, Syslog, and NetFlow access
  • Managing Cisco device configurations, Cisco IOS images, and licenses

Course Objectives

After completing this course, you will be able to:

  • Describe routing protocols, and describe different remote connectivity options and their impact on routing and implement RIPng
  • Configure EIGRP in IPv4 and IPv6 environment
  • Configure OSPF in IPv4 and IPv6 environment
  • Implement route redistribution using filtering mechanisms
  • Implement path control using policy based routing and IP SLA
  • Implement enterprise Internet connectivity
  • Secure Cisco routers according to best practices and configure authentication for routing protocols

The instructor Bryan Baize was excellent!! He was knowledgeable and patient with all of my questions. I would have loved to see more labs in addition to what was already provided.

Everyone at Boson was super friendly and ensured a comfortable environment conducive to learning.

Bryan was very knowledgable with real world application which is very nice. Many instructors do not seem to have that real world application knowledge.

Bryan's stories about real world examples made this class amazing. I also like how Bryan shared helpful books and sites to continue my certification journey. He is an excellent instructor who cares about sharing knowledge and was patient with answering all of my questions. I also consider Boson's simulation software and products very helpful. I choose Boson because of this and how you can retake the classes for free if you fail.

Bryan is very knowledgeable and helpful. The course helped me with real world scenarios and Bryan helped answer tons of questions. The course was pretty fast speed pace but that is expected in CCNP course.
